Epic Battles are here! In Epic Battles, you earn a special kind of currency called Stars of Merit. You can trade these for lvl 95 jewelry at Helm's Deep. There are three traders near the stablemaster who are happy to take those Stars of Merit off your hands:

The Quartermaster on the left will give you this excellent jewelry for only marks/medallions... But only if you are lvl 100 or above, so that is not helpful! (Strangely, he also does not have Beorning jewelry!)

On the right you can see two "Merit Committee" traders. The "Standard Honours" fellow will give you very nice teal jewelry. Each piece costs 275 Stars of Merit.

The "High Honours" trader has even better versions of the jewelry, but each piece costs 750 Stars of Merit.

You may have heard people suggest that we should save our Stars of Merit for lvl 100 and not spend them at lvl 95. HOWEVER, I am not sure that this advice still holds.

Apparently there used to be two sets of jewelry, one for lvl 95 and one for lvl 100. People thought it best to wait for the lvl 100 jewelry. However, SSG seems to have corrected this problem and you can now get the best jewelry at lvl 95.

I previously said that you could get the Big Battle jewelry from the Quartermaster for Marks and Medallions... I found out today that you have to be at least lvl 100 in order to trade with that guy. Ah well!

I updated the guide above to be more accurate.

I've also got screenshots of all of the Epic Battle jewelry. Check the links below!

So far, Caedman and Gunnloeg have got some of the teal jewelry mentioned above as a drop in epic battles!

I'm starting to suspect that we are all going to get a few of the teal pieces just by playing. If you need a certain piece to get some set bonus, it might be worth spending some Stars of Merit... But we might just be better off saving them up for the more expensive gold items or for Anfalas Crystals for our imbued legendary weapons after lvl 100!

I was reminded of this when exploring those vendors! But maybe with the upcoming LI change (assuming that is still a thing), we can freely get our jewelry for level 95 with the Stars of Merit and won't need those. But, otherwise, saving them for 100 can be a great idea if you don't need or want the 95 stuff too bad!

I'm thinking I won't spend my Stars of Merit at all. If I get upgrades from rewards from Epic Battles, that's cool, but my stats are all already over-cap (except for avoidance stuff and incoming healing).

Also, I've done a lot of the Epic Battle thing lately. I'm really enjoying it. So far I've gotten two Flawed Symbols. I recommend doing more Epic Battles!

Though, I suppose if I build up a ton of Stars of Merit I could just upgrade for the increase on moral. That might be worth it. Who knows?

Great points, Capo.

Yeah, today Anniee got one of the GOLD pieces of jewelry as a drop in Helm's Dike. So I don't think I will be spending any Stars of Merit on jewelry either. I think those Anfalas Crystals may be the better investment. My understanding is that we will need a lot of them for lvl 100 imbued legendary weapons... though, as Louey points out, there is an LI change promised for the near future, so who knows! :)

If you want to get crystals, you might be better served doing the festival right now. They have anfalas crystals for barter. Just double check to make sure if they are character bound or not. I just happened to see them in there.

Summer festival is a great way to stock up indeed!

I read on the forums that we will need 20-25 anfalas crystals to max out the DPS/healing/main stat on the imbued weapons. ๐Ÿ˜ถ

For the first time, I am glad that Guardian Belts' Shield Use stat are broken. ๐Ÿ˜‹
